… a Branch of the Florida State Association of the National League of American Pen Women, Inc.
WHO ARE PEN WOMEN?
The National League of American Pen Women, Inc. grew to include professional women in all facets of the creative fields: writers, illustrators, poets, painters, photographers, jewelry designers, sculptors and composers, graphic designers, and dramatists. Today we are still expanding our horizons and have added set designers, architects, choreographers and more.
Our national headquarters in Washington, D.C. is housed in the 1887 landmark home of Robert Todd Lincoln. The building is open to members to tour, hold meetings and for over night stays at a nominal fee. Most of the First Ladies in our country have been honorary members as well as famous women throughout the years; women such as Erma Bombeck, Pearl Buck, Edna Ferber, Georgia O’Keefe, Mary Roberts Rhinehart, Julie Harris, Helen Hayes, Helen Keller and Eudora Welty, to name a few.
There are branches in almost every state, with many at-large members all over the world. The Jacksonville branch takes enormous pride in being able to help enrich our community and to raise funds for scholarships given to worthy girls and women in the arts.
Most of our meetings are held on the second Saturday of the month from September etc. We welcome any local women interested in the arts to attend any of our events in order to learn more about us. Men are ALSO welcome to attend these meetings which are always open to the public.
If you are a professional woman who has had your work published or sold, or have received monetary compensation for your original creations in Art, Letters or Music, you may qualify for membership. If you wish information on how to apply, please contact us.
Please click on coming events to find our upcoming luncheon programs. You must call or email us two weeks prior to event, in order to submit payment and to reserve your place.

Infinite beyond the measured steps of worlds gone by
Delicate and fleeting as the present moment
You move past my window like a rainbow bends the sky
Stained glass etchings wing their way through points of light
As your return lifts my garden into the realm of a blessing
I bow to you, my butterfly
